HOW IS MELASMA TREATED?
Dermatologists have developed several methods to provide a long-term solution for melasma. While melasma is still one of the most difficult types of pigmentation to treat due to its multi-factor cause and aetiology, There are some methods available which can cure melasma for a long period.
MEDICAL TREATMENTS FOR MELASMA
- OTC Creams
Do not use any cream for Melasma without expert recommendation. There are various creams available for melasma which contain HYDROQUINONE and steroids. Use of such creams without any recommendation by a dermatologist can make skin thin and sensitive. Always make sure, know your skin type first and then under the supervision of dermatologists use OTC creams.
- Chemical Peels and Lasers
Chemical peels and laser targets melanin pigmented areas. These melanin pigments originate Melasma. The laser can treat with deep pigmentation and helps to fight with melasma for the long term.
